1983 - THE ELI STILL SHOW by Lionel and Patricia Fanthorpe

Lionel Fanthorpe , an old friend and prolific author, had a script for a gothic horror verse play The Monster of Gruesome Grange that he had originally written in the late sixties. It was decided to perform it as a radio play and Lionel took very little persuading to pen another verse drama - this time liberally sprinkled with fannish references. This was Eli Still Goes On which had its World Premiere at Beccon 85 in Basildon, Essex where it was performed with gusto alongside The Monster from Gruesome Grange.

Words by Kate Davies - Musical Arrangements by Ian Sorenson.

Another World Premiere. The original "book" was a fanzine written and published by Kate. Meanwhile, about 400 miles away in Scotland, Ian had been producing fannish "epic" musicals and plays. This now legendary stage show covers subjects as diverse as Star Trek, bestiality, Trades Unions, sadism, humour and drunkenness. And it is a musical as well.
